This great little 5 1/2' bench sports a "sawbuck" style leg/base.  The top is a solid 2x12 heart-pine joist that was salvaged from a St. Petersburg, Florida church built in the 1920's.  The character of the origional sawmill blade-marks add a great dimension and history to a simple bench!  (Click the photo at the bottom of the page for more of the history of the church this wood came from!)

Origional saw-blade marks give the single-board top its character!
